Everyone’s favourite Australian ambassador (you know him, you love him!) Brendan Berne, proposed to his longtime partner Thomas Marti in Paris earlier today, following the passing of the marriage equality bill in Australia’s parliament.
Ok so, no, we had never heard of old mate ambassador to France either, but are thrilled to discover he’s now engaged to his boyfriend of 11 years as well as the fact that he’s a bit of a DILF.
Brendo shared the sweet news in a video posted to social media that shows him discussing Australia passing the Marriage Amendment bill on his super luxe ambassadorial balcony overlooking some weird tower, before strolling inside to his boyf and popping the question.
The answer? A big ol’ OUI!

Berne has been the ambassador to France since October after many years working in foriegn affairs.
We wish him and his fiance a wonderful marriage filled with croissants and poodles.
