ANZ Install Bedazzled GAYTMs For Mardi Gras

Meet the most bedazzled ATMs in the country right now.

In anticipation of the furious money dispensing that will occur when short people who can’t seen anything are forced to buy an outrageously priced plastic stool they’ll only use once during the 2014 Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardis Gras parade, ten ANZ Bank automatic teller machines in select locations around Sydney (Oxford Street, Pitt Street,  George Street, Castlereagh Street, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst and Bondi Junction) have been gifted with their very own Queer Eye For The Straight Guy makeover montage, transformed, for the duration of the event, into bedazzled beacons of diversity.

The tellers are emblazoned with LGBT inspired visual motifs including sailors, facial hair and unicorns to transform from the regular ATMs that we’re used to – nondescript , poorly dressed, mundane – into the world’s first “GAYTMs”.
It’s debatable whether this is an irreverent celebration of tolerance (especially coming from a corporate sponsor) or just offensively reductive to every LGBT person who doesn’t dress at the OTT intersection of rainbow, rhinestone and leopard print, but I think we can all agree on one thing, the world’s a better place with more unicorns in it.
