Actress Abigail Breslin has taken to Instagram to post a heartfelt tribute to her father, revealing that he passed away from COVID-19 this week.
She shared a series of photos of her father, some showing them together, saying: “Oh wow. Hard to write this. Harder than I thought. I’m in shock and devastation.”
She went on to say that:
“At 6:32 PM EST , my sweet, perfect, amazing, heroic, wonderful dada passed away after my family and I said goodbye. It was COVID-19 that cut my sweet daddy’s life too short. I appreciate more than you know, the love and support my family and I have received.”
She then reflected on his life, saying that he was a “hilarious, boisterous, tenacious, rebellious, intelligent, sweet, incredible human being” who loved family an the simple things.

Earlier this month, Abigail Breslin asked friends and followers for “prayers and positivity” for her father, revealing that he had become sick and been placed on a ventilator.
She also asked people to take the proper precautions around COVID, saying: “A mask is FAR LESS uncomfortable than a ventilator. Wear your damn mask. Please. No one should go thru this.”
