A Huge Bloody Number Of Women Are Opting For A Pube-Less Vagina

Hello, fellow person who either owns or is into vaginas.

A new study into the nether regional grooming habits of American cis-gendered women has found that the practise of completely stripping vaginas of their natural pubes is extremely widespread.

Of the 3,316 women surveyed, 62% said they opted for complete removal of their pubic hair, while 84% reported some grooming.

And while this is no issue in and of itself – your pubes are for grooming, growing or grabbing wildly at your own pleasure – researchers were slightly worried that the majority of women said they did so for hygiene reasons.

“Many women think they are dirty and unclean if they haven’t groomed,” said Dr. Tami S. Rowen, an obstetrician-gynecologist and lead author of the study.

White, college-educated women between the ages of 18 and 34 were the most likely to groom their short and curlies (the study found no associations between grooming and income or marital status), with hygiene being one of the most common reasons (59%).

For the record: one of the key purposes of pubes is to protect your genitals from bacteria, so removing them will have no positive impact on your nether-health whatsoever.
Dr Jennifer Gunter, who specialises in pelvic pain and vulvovaginal disorders for Kaiser Permanente Northen California, says that “at least once a week” she sees young women who think it’s wrong to have pubic hair, and that “grooming has become so common that people think it’s the norm.”

“If it is something you do for you and makes you feel better, awesome,” she says. “But don’t tell yourself it’s healthy or better from a medical standpoint.”
