A female apprentice jockey has died at Cranbourne Racecourse, Victoria, after falling from a horse on Friday morning.
Around 4:35am the 22-year-old Clyde woman fell during morning trackwork.

A statement from Racing Victoria confirmed the tragedy. Victoria Police and WorkSafe are on-site investigating the incident and trackwork was closed at the Cranbourne Training Centre following the incident.
“RV, the Victorian Jockeys Association, and the Cranbourne Turf Club are offering assistance to the family and local racing community at this tragic time,” said the statement.
