Watch: Scenes From The Suburbs Trailer

The Suburbs is the two-part opus which bookends Arcade Fire’s Grammy award winning album of the same name. Scenes From The Suburbs is a 30-minute short film in support of that same album, directed by collaboration-prone auteur Spike Jonze. Our first look at the union came earlier this year via Jonze’s “The Suburbs” music video. It acted as a teaser to the film (albeit a vague nonsensical one) but now, thanks to our friends at 24 Bit, we get a trailer proper for what Win Butler describes as a “science-fiction B-movie companion piece for the record”. We’re definitely feeling the suburban malaise part. They kind of had to nail that, didn’t they? What we didn’t expect to hold up however, was the whole “science-fiction B-movie” thing but thanks to a reflective Stand By Me style voice over and some serious Tomorrow When The War Began YA fiction vibes (hey there militants and young people running wild!) we’re now totally captivated by the idea. Can’t wait to see the whole thing. Watch the trailer below…
