WATCH: Kygo Ends His Coachella Set With An Emotional Tribute To Avicii

As the music world continues to mourn for Avicii, who passed away yesterday at the age of 28, many of his friends and colleagues paid homage to him at Coachella, including DJ Kygo, who closed his set with an emotional tribute.

Kygo wrapped his set up by playing Avicii’s 2017 hit ‘Without You‘, telling the crowd beforehand:

“Coachella, I think most of you guys have heard but today is a very sad day for music. Earlier today I got the news that Avicii passed away only 28 years old. Avicii was my biggest musical inspiration and he was the reason I started making electronic music so I don’t think I would’ve been on this stage tonight if it wasn’t for him.”

“I know he’s inspired millions of other producers out there. So I want to end my set tonight with my favourite Avicii song. In honour of Avicii I want you to dance and sing along and let’s celebrate the life of a true musical genius.”

According to reports from Sweden, Avicii’s brother David Bergling has travelled to MuscatOman in an attempt to look for answers as to the cause of his sibling’s death.

He has reportedly checked into a hotel 15 minutes from the luxury Muscat Hills Resort where his brother, real name Tim Bergling, was staying in the days before he passed away.

Reportedly, police in Oman currently believe there is no criminal suspicion in Avicii’s death.
