“Gone Too Soon”: Tributes Flow For Avicii Following His Tragic Death

Friends and colleagues have reacted with shock and sadness to the death of Swedish DJ Avicii, otherwise known as Tim Bergling, who died overnight at the age of 28.

“Devastating news about Avicii,” said Calvin Harris, “a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do. My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim x.”

In an emotional post to his Instagram, Diplo praised Avicii as a superstar and ground-breaker, saying that he had “set the precedent” for the current generation of electronic producers, opening up doors and setting trends.

“I know you had your demons and maybe this wasn’t the right place for you sometimes,” he continued, “but we need to protect true artists like you at all costs because there are not enough left and we are losing too many.”

Singer Rita Ora, who recently collaborated with him on the track ‘Lonely Together‘, said that she was devastated and heartbroken by the loss.

Madonna, who worked with Avicii on her Rebel Heart album, shared a photo of the pair, saying “goodbye dear sweet Tim, gone too soon.”

Deadmau5 also shared a remembrance of his friend, saying “nobody can deny what he has accomplished and done for modern dance music and I’m very proud of him.”

Avicii, who previously revealed that he suffered from pancreatitis related to alcohol, was found dead in MuscatOman. His cause of death has not been revealed.
