An Avicii fan has taken to Instagram to share what may well be one of the final photos to be taken of the Swedish music superstar, who passed away overnight in Muscat, Oman at the age of 28.
Earlier this week, a “starstruck” fan by the name of Kelly posted a photo of herself with the DJ, who posed with her at Muscat Hills Resort when she ran into him there on her birthday weekend.

Today, with news of his passing, the young fan shared another haunting photo of herself with Avicii, saying “can’t believe I got to meet you in Muscat just 6 days ago, far too young to go.”

Several days ago, the resort also shared some photographs of the Swedish star, thanking him for his stay there.
According to Swedish magazine Expressen, a local DJ named Marai Joshi said that he met Avicii while spinning at the resort.
“He told me he liked Oman so much that he would extend his journey and stay for a few days extra,” Joshi told the publication.
A representative for the DJ, otherwise known as Tim Bergling, released a statement earlier today confirming his passing and saying:
“He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
