Triple J Unearthed an 11-year-old who they have dubbed “possibly the youngest EDM producer in Aus.”
Black Summer is just a regular kid, except for the fact that the hours he spends on the computer each day are used to create new tunes and sick drops. The video interview reveals BS is already used to the pros (the moment he got his first groupie) and cons (“lots of people don’t like dubstep- Mr Dean he’s not a big fan of it”) of being in the music biz.
Not only did this kid get his music played on the radio, he got a personal message from Flume congratulating him on his work and encouraging him to “keep experimenting” and having “happy mistakes”. Sage advice from the EDM legend himself who at 12 dropped his own super kewl track, ‘Hectic Sausage’.
Highlights of the video include Toms’ friend saying, “that’s really cool, even though I have no idea who Flume is” and The Little Producer Who Could fanging out to his fave remixes in the lounge-room with his disco lights.
