Two Door Cinema Club Pull Out Of Splendour In The Grass, Eleventh Hour Replacement Announced

Following the hospitalisation of lead singer and guitarist Alex Trimble, Splendour In The Grass have this afternoon announced that marquee act Two Door Cinema Club are pulling a Frank Ocean and will no longer be appearing on the line-up at next weekend’s festival. The band, originally scheduled to headline the Amphitheatre stage on Saturday the 26th, have released the following statement through SITG addressing the cancellation of their exclusive festival appearance:
It is with a heavy heart that we are going to need to cancel our upcoming trip to Australia for Splendour in the Grass. Alex collapsed at Seattle airport on the way to London and has been hospitalised with a chronic stomach complaint. We are devastated to have to cancel this show that we were so looking forward to. We can only apologise and hope for your understanding at this time. Love TDCC x
Appearing at the eleventh hour to fill that sweet, Irish void will be Foals. The Cambridge lads will be flying into the country for 48 hours to play the festival exclusively, while City and Colour will move into the headline position on Saturday to close the Amphitheatre Stage.
Next year, maybe.
