London Grammar Pulls Out Of Splendour In The Grass

Down Under bound UK pop trio with excellent hairdressers London Grammar have pulled out of Splendour In The Grass just days before it was scheduled to commence this week, citing illness. Their withdrawal follows the unceremonious cancellation of headliners Two Door Cinema Club last week, later replaced by Foals

The band, originally scheduled to play the Amphitheatre main stage from 7:15 on Friday night, as well as two sideshows in Sydney and in Melbourne, released the following statement to their Facebook page: “It’s with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of our trip to Australia & Splendour in the Grass this week due to illness. This is an incredibly sad situation for us as our last visit was one of the most memorable of our careers, but we do not feel that we can currently deliver the level of performance that you all deserve from us. Our fans in Australia have been hugely supportive of our music since the very beginning, and it pains us to have to disappoint any of you. We are going to do everything we can to make sure we are back down under as soon as possible and will reschedule our Sydney & Melbourne shows and give you more details very shortly.”

An 11th hour replacement has yet to be announced.

UPDATE: Sydney’s The Presets have just been announced as the Lorde to London Grammar’s Frank Ocean.

Splendour In The Grass takes place from July 25 to July 27 at North Byron Parklands, Byron Bay.
