Chance The Rapper Has Withdrawn From Splendour Due To Illness

Splendour in the Grass headliner Chance the Rapper has withdrawn from the festival just over 24 hours out from his planned set due to illness, festival organisers have announced.

Chance is reportedly unwell, and was unable to board his scheduled flight to Australia.

In his place, Hilltop Hoods are being flown in on 24 hours notice to replace Chance on the Amphitheatre stage where they will close out the 2019 festival.

Representatives for Chance issued a short statement via Splendour officials a short time ago, expressing his regret at the sudden, last-minute cancellation.

It is with great regret we that Chance the Rapper will not be coming to Australia to perform at Splendour in the Grass. Unfortunately, due to illness he is unable to fly.

Refunds are being made available for punters with Sunday single day tickets only, and will be available to be applied for until 9am on Sunday July 21st only (tomorrow). Refund requests must be submitted in writing by the original ticket purchaser via this support link.

Hilltop Hoods last appeared at Splendour last year, headlining the festival’s mix-up stage.

They are now scheduled to take the main Amphitheatre stage at 10:45pm.
