Top Ten Albums of 2010: Kim Moyes Of The Presets

As 2010 draws to a close we reflect on the year’s most memorable moments and, as always, the albums that characterized the year through good times and bad. To do just that, Pedestrian’s Top Ten Of 2010 series taps a savvy selection of friends, bands, bloggers and other people with admirable taste to give us their favourite songs and albums of the year. This is Kim Moyes (one half of The Presets) top ten albums of 2010 in no particular order.

Jeff Mills – Sleeper Wakes
Zola Jesus – Stridulum II
Walls – Walls
anbb: Alva Noto & Blixa Bargeld – Mimikry
Matthew Dear – Black City
The Chemical Brothers – Further
Luke Abbott – Holkham Drones
Grinderman – Grinderman 2
Sei A – White Rainbow
Virgo – Virgo (reissue)

Honorable mentions: Linkin Park who I think made an exceptional effort on the “A Thousand Suns” record with Rick Rubin at the helm. If it wasn’t for some of the overly tortured lyrics and raps made entirely out of cliches it would have definitely made my top 10.

Seth Troxler – Boogybytes Vol 5. I wasn’t entirely sure if a mix cd should make a top 10 album list but I thoroughly enjoyed this in 2010.
