Tom DeLonge Has Quit Blink 182

Hear this? This is the sound of your adolescence being crushed before your very ears; compressing in on itself like a faberge egg in a perpetually quickening centrifuge and being dropped down a bottomless well into infinite blackness. Falling. Falling. Falling.

Man whose fortune was made on the back of three chords and some well timed dick jokes, Tom DeLonge has officially left Blink 182.
The famed nose-singer has walked away from his brothers in arms in Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker after informing them of his decision allegedly via a manager-sent email, it has been revealed.
What’s left of the band released a statement claiming that, “We were all set to play this festival and record a new album and Tom kept putting it off without reason. A week before we were scheduled to go in to the studio we got an email from his manager explaining that he didn’t want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinitely, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors (sic).
Although for whatever it’s worth, DeLonge himself asserts that he never actually quit the band.

The heightened drama of pop-punk aside, the band insists there are “no hard feelings” and that the show must go on regardless. For the time being that means enlisting a replacement guitarist and singer, which they have done so in the form of Matt Skiba from fellow punk stalwarts Alkaline Trio.
What this means for the future of the band remains uncertain, and as for what exactly those “non-musical” endeavours of DeLonge’s entail remains an issue purely for rampant speculation.
We can’t comment on any exact reason for this split. Though we can say that it probably wasn’t one single big thing that caused it, rather it was probably just all the small things.
