The Scare Break Up

After months of industry speculation, Sydney five-piece The Scare have officially called it quits. It’s sad to see them go as we’re big fans of their most recent Daniel Johns Produced album Oozevoodoo but the band’s split is strangely befitting of their nomadic lifestyle. After first forming in the Sunshine Coast in 2003, the band relocated to Birmingham, England before eventually settling in Sydney in 2007. In 2010 they’ll continue their voyage as they travel to a little place called band heaven.

In a statement, lead singer Kiss Reid said: “It was a fun ride, it was a wild ride, at times it was a shit ride, at times you wanted it to never end type of ride. But alas all good things must come to an end, and now it’s our turn.”

The Scare will play their last string of shows in July and they’re sure to be volatile/incendiary/awesome. Dates are as follows:

July 9, Sussex Inlet, Sussex Inlet Tavern
July 10, Melbourne, Rats at Colonial Hotel
July 16, Wollongong, Night Eats Day at Grand Hotel
July 17, Sydney, Annandale Hotel
