Supafest Pull Together Great Line-up, Will They Turn Up?

Unfortunately for local urban music fans, Australian hip-hop/R’n’B festivals have a pretty awful reputation, plagued with headline no-shows and shambolic event co-ordination.  Having promised a “HUGE” lineup for their 4th edition, Supafest have at least talked the talk but will fans be willing to make the financial and emotional investment in a festival that will probably deliver performances from hyped international stars including 50 Cent, Ne-Yo, and Akon?

Conjecture still surrounds Supafest’s P.Diddy, Missy Elliott, and Rick Ross no-shows from last year. Were there bone-headed oversights on the festival’s part? Were the rappers in question being demanding egotistical dicks? Was it just bad luck and miscommunication? Irrespective of whether or not Supafest could secure enough bottles of Diddy’s favorite single-malt, fans were always going to side with the artist and with Supafest still owing refunds to disgruntled fans, the brand has a lot of ground to make up in a very short time with the festival hitting the ground in the last week of April.

Supafest 2013 Lineup:

Ne-Yo
50 Cent
Akon
J. Cole
Waka Flocka
Young Jeezy
Mindless Behavior
DJ Unk
Kevin McCall
DJ Nino Brown
Dizzy Doolan
Phinesse

At the time of print, Supafest had not replied to our inquiries as
to how they would guarantee touring the complete
roster so here’s our essential line-up delivery check list.

Always have a substantial stockpile of brown M & M’s on hand to impress even the most fickle and demanding of artists.

Always give clear and precise directions.

When all else fails, don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. It’s a tough buisness.
