Stream: New Grinderman, Les Savy Fav, Lauryn Hill

From the swampy, bass-heavy new tune from Nick Cave’s side-project Grinderman to the spandex-wrapped testicles of Tim Harrington (front man of indie-rockers Les Savy Fav) and a lost track from the reclusive Lauryn Hill, there’s a whole heap of great new tunes to check out this week.

Grinderman – “Heathen Child”
Nick Cave and his dirty blues-punk outfit Grinderman are back fierce and fabulous. Their second album comes out in September but the first single has us well excited for what’s in store…

Les Savy Fav – “Let’s Get Out Of Here”
Another release due for September is Les Savy Fav’s Root for Ruin. This is the first single off the album and it’s decidedly more reserved and far less noisy than what they usually offer, but “Let’s Get Out of Here” is a great indie-rock jam reminiscent of early Wolf Parade material.

Happy Birthday – “Too Shy”
Sub Pop darlings Happy Birthday do hazy Sixties chill vibes wrapped in singalong indie-pop hooks.

Lauryn Hill – “Repercussions”
The word is that this track’s an outtake from Lauryn’s amazing critically accliamed debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and, if that is the case, it shows how crazy gifted this lady was at making pop songs.
