What started out as a DIY bedroom project for Sydney indie artist Guineafowl has steadily gained momentum into what is shaping up to be a large 2011. Having already taken out the award for ‘Best Sydney Song’ at this year’s FBi SMAC Awards (for ‘In Our Circles’), this year will see Guineafowl taking off with his band on their first national tour. The tour will coincide with the release of his Hello Anxiety EP, as well as a coveted billing on the unparalleled fake Splendour In The Grass lineup.
Hello Anxiety sound swells with bouyant guitar riffs, elegantly building anthemic pop melodies, danceable beats and Guineafowl’s David Byrne meets Interpol’s Paul Banks’ vocal take.
