Spiderbait’s Kram Explains The Difference Between The Old Arias And The New Arias

Spiderbait have been nominated for a total of nineteen ARIA Awards, winning two, spanning all the way back to the mid-90s when they were honoured with their first nomination for Best Alternative Release for their sophomore album, The Unfinished Spanish Galleon of Finley Lake.

In other words; they’ve been to an ungodly amount of ARIA Awards, after party soirees and whatever happens in between and when we caught up with vocalist/drummer Kram at this year’s ceremony in Sydney last week, we decided to ask him to explain to us the major differences between the old ARIAs and the new ARIAs. The main difference, apparently, is the quantity of backpacks, satchels and handbags people were carrying around with them back then. A time he fondly describes as “bag central” #nofilter.

You can stream all the performances from the 2013 ARIA Awards via onrdio.com, including great stuff from Flume, Tame Impala, Jess Mauboy, Illy and international guests Alicia Keys and Lorde.
