Snoop Lion, the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg has upgraded his spirit animal and is done with the rap game. This interesting bong-induced delusion decision has arrived courtesy of a spiritual awakening at a Rastafarian temple in Jamaica.
His shock transformation into a reggae artist has been captured documentary-style – thought by some to have been just a very committed hoax in the similar vein to actor Joaquin Phoenix’s transformation into rapper a few years ago. Unlike Phoenix, however, Snoop’s transformation looks like it’s the real deal.
A trailer has been released for the upcoming mid-life crisis doco Re-incarnated, celebrating Snoop’s animorph from Dogg to Lion. The film has been selected to premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival later this year, in conjunction with the release of an exclusively reggae album of the same name, produced by none other than EDM God Diplo.
RIP Snoop Dogg.
