
As if we needed any further confirmation that this is officially The Year Of Sia, last night, the singer-slash-magical breath of pixie dust won big at the APRA Awards, taking away the Songwriter Of The Year trophy for the second year running.
APRA, the copyright organisation that represents composers, lyricists and publishers in Australia, held its annual awards ceremony in Brisbane last night. In addition to Sia’s award, Vance Joy walked away with Pop Song Of The Year for Triple J favourite ‘Riptide’.
In addition to that, the Aussie has written songs for Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kylie,Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Britney and even the frenetic pile of giggles and nervous tics that is Celine Dion.
Her new album 1000 Forms Of Fear will be out on July 8.
