Rihanna’s “Queen Bey” Instagram Post Has Fans Thinking Their Feud Is Over

The feud between Rihanna and Beyoncé that may or may not have been real in the first place may or may not have officially ended, with the two formidable divas posing for a photo together at Rih’s Diamond Ball charity event on Thursday this week.

Rihanna later posted the photo to her Instagram stories, with a jaunty little crown emoji placed on Beyoncé’s head, presumably in reference to her Queen Bey nickname; Bey herself posted a photo of the ‘We Found Love‘ singer posing at the event with her husband Jay-Z.

Jay-Z is said to have discovered the young Rihanna before signing her to his Roc Nation label, and the pair were rumoured to have had an affair in 2005, which would go a long way towards explaining Beyoncé might not be so keen on the three of them hanging out.

That popular rumour was put to bed in 2015, though, when Rihanna’s old publicist publicly apologised for spreading it, saying that it was merely an attempt to boost the profile of the then-17-year-old singer.

The photos immediately got fans speculating as to whether the pair had really buried the hatchet, and wondering whether it’s a signal that the two might even work together at some point. As one person succinctly put it:

“Beyoncé and Rihanna need to collab it’s been too fucking long that I’ve been robbed of this collaboration.”

We’re figuratively dying to find out what’s to come.

Meanwhile, the Diamond Ball raised $5 million for Rih’s Clara Lionel Foundation, which promotes education and the arts worldwide. The likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx also attended, while Barack Obama sent a video message praising the foundation for its philanthropic efforts.

Not a bad night, then, all things considered.
