New Book Claims Beyoncé And Jay Z Broke Up For A Year Over Rihanna

Beyoncé has officially entered the ‘unauthorised biography’ phase of her celebrity, with an upcoming book from prolific writer J. Randy Taraborrelli, who has previously penned unauthorised tomes on Michael Jackson, Madonna and the Hilton family.
The book, entitled Becoming Beyoncé, does not have the blessing of the Carter-Knowles clan, and probably won’t be getting it, given that the author is already making explosive claims about a split between the pair.
During a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, Taraborrelli claimed that, in 2005, Jay and Bey secretly split up for a whole year, after a rumour spread that Jay had an affair with the then-17-year-old Rihanna.
While all involved now acknowledge that it’s untrue, the rumour clearly rattled Beyoncé, who allegedly spent a year apart from Jay after hearing it, because she “wasn’t sure what to make of the situation.”
The best part of all this, though, is that the source of the rumour has been identified as publicist Jonathan Hay, who started it in order to give his then-client Rihanna’s career a jump-start … AND IS NOW ATTEMPTING TO WORK WITH TIDAL.
Per reports in the New York Daily News, Hay is basically shitting himself about how Jay and Bey will take all of this, saying:
“I was blindsided by the news of Becoming Beyoncé coming out and it couldn’t come at a worse time for me. I’m currently releasing projects with my label Urban Hitchcock through Tidal, a company that is owned by Jay Z and Beyoncé … Hopefully this news hasn’t ruined that relationship for me.”
GOOD LUCK, M8.
Taraborrelli also claims that last year’s infamous Solange-Jay Z elevator fight was over Rihanna, telling ET, that Jay wanted to go to a party for Rihanna that night, and Solange lashed out at him after hearing a “whispered argument” on the subject.
What awful thing will the Becoming Beyoncé press tour disgorge next? We are figuratively dying to find out.
