Rebecca Black Cameos In Katy Perry’s New Video

While internet meme girl Rebecca Black made more than her fair share of enemies after declaring ‘It’s Friday’ – which it is – she did manage to score a high five from at least two of pop music’s most influential songstresses – Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

In fact, Perry went even so far as to perform a “Friday” cover during her gig in Melbourne back in April, telling the crowd “I’m so glad that someone wrote a song about Friday – finally!” -_-

She wasn’t joking*.

I suppose the sympathy elicits from the fact that Perry has her own song dedicated to the day, titled “Last Friday Night (TGIF)”, (however Perry’s version is about ‘getting down’ in far more amorous ways). So in sharing this common theme, Perry has invited Black to make a cameo in her music video for the single, due out June 14.

In the teaser trailer, Perry plays her alter ego: 13-year-old Katy Beth Terry, an 8th grade geek who wakes up after a night at one of those epic house parties, seen throwing up in a shoes and flashing a boob (because we were all doing that at 13 right?) She’s into solar systems, science fairs, Hanson, JTT and unicorns and even has her own Facebook and Twitter pages.

If you keep your eye out you can spot Black for a fleeting moment as one of the party extras. It’s easy to miss, but I suppose it’s a nod from Perry to the girl that gained instant notoriety for that song we’d all like to forget.
