Radiohead Rumor Mill Status Upgraded To “Raging”

Don’t just publish bullshit only to get hits on your webpage.
Don’t just create your own stories after reading one post on a message board.

Get your facts straight.

So says the omnipotent and mildly passive aggressive voice on wallofice.com the speculated HTML home of Radiohead’s latest EP. Long story short, a new Radiohead song has leaked online and it may or may not be part of a new EP which may or may not be released some time this week. Confusing right? Well details are as vague as Kid A’s lyrics so we can only speculate, like the rest of the internets, as to what it all means.

For those who understand tech jargon (not us) The Quietus has the skinny on Radiohead’s latest and most confusing release modus operandi to date: Now, eagle-eyed observers have noticed that elements of the file and code attached to the song featured the words “wall” and “of” and “ice”, and that indeed the combination of the three appeared in a mysterious poem that accomanpanied the track on back-of-the-internet-lorry site what.cd. You can find all the Wall of Ice stuff hidden in the ASCII code here.

If you therefore assume that Radiohead follow the same model as they did with In Rainbows – ie they create a website based on the title of the release – you get www.wallofice.com. And that leads straight to the WASTE shop. In other words, it looks very much like the rumours are true: there’s an EP coming with that title and Radiohead’s site is all set up to receive the orders via that site.
