Sydney’s daddies of dance The Presets have this arvo dropped their first new tune in about three years called Do What You Want, and folks, it’s A-grade banger material.
Having kept a fairly low profile since 2012’s slick as hell LP Pacifica, the duo only released a couple of low-key one-offs in 2014, so it’s def been awhile between drinks.
Do What You Want premiered on Triple J’s drive show today and it’s a divine return to what we know and love from the dudes behind seminal pieces of Aussie dance culture such as My People and This Boys In Love.
Drenched in dank synths that jab out at your ears like some nefarious Saw-like contraption, and accompanied by a distorted other-worldly voice chanting out the titular lyric, it feels utterly apt to drop the week of Halloween.
