Presets, Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts Get ARIA Nominations

As if number 1 albums and Video Hits specials weren’t enough of an indication that our favourite bands had indeed crossed over and been embraced by the wider listening public, today’s ARIA Nominations made it plain as all hell.

Up for nominations for Best Independent Release and Breakthrough Artist of the Year were Midnight Juggernauts, alongside other Australian electro angels like Cut Copy and Pnau who both picked up noms for Best Dance Release.

Leading the charge and covering the nominations like a sweaty, raving rash was the Presets who’re up for ARIA’s in the categories of Single Of The Year, Best Dance Release, Best Group and would you believe it, Album of the Year. Go boys. Pretty good showing I must say, and it’s bolstered by other refreshing nods to Nick Cave and Eddy Current Suppression Ring.

When oh when will the ARIA’s introduce the frontman of the year award so Tranter can strip on national TV? We needs it.
