Whether you think the EDM boom is collapsing or not – it very much is, btw – the lads in The Chainsmokers have nevertheless managed to secure some big wins. Their drunken beer pong anthems ‘Something Just Like This’, ‘Paris’ and ‘Closer’ were in the Hot 100 simultaneously, a feat previously achieved by only The Beatles and the Bee Gees.
This automatically makes The Chainsmokers as good as The Beatles and the Bee Gees. I’m sorry, but it is what it is. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them.
