Welcome to another day for you and me in paradise, mates.
Your parents’ favourite British multi-instrumentalist and former member of Genesis, the one and only Phil Collins is headed to Australia and New Zealand as part of his extensive Not Dead Yet: Live! tour.
Call your aunt and uncle who love to get on the piss and sing Sussudio at the top of their lungs at every family event, because they’re going to want to get their asses to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth (yes, Perth!) in Aus and Christchurch, or Napier in NZ next January/February. Hell, gather the whole lot and make it your official family reunion – get on the chardys with Aunty Kerri and have a god damn blast.
It’s a family affair on the stage too because of course it’s going to be the most wholesome gig of 2019, with Phil’s 16-year-old son Nicolas smashing out the 80s saccharine beats from behind the drum kit. From all reports, he absolutely wails on the skins, so if you wanna catch the next wave of incredibly talented Collins dynasty, then get along to a show for sure.
I swear to God, Phil Collins will probably keep touring and performing until the day he dies, considering he’s now 67 and has really has no plans of retiring, despite wanting to fade into that blissful golden time quietly.
I thought I would retire quietly, but thanks to the fans, my family and support from some extraordinary artists I have rediscovered my passion for music and performing. It’s time to do it all again and I’m excited. It just feels right.
Tickets for the big gigs go on sale from 9.30am (AEST) Wednesday, September 5th over at Ticketek. Seriously, there’s your Xmas presents sorted for all the adults in your fam.
