Pharrell Wears Many Big Hats, And Lily Allen Fires Right Up In New Film Clips

There’s double the new film clips from Pharrell Williams and Lily Allen to pore over. So let’s murder a pair of birds with the same stone, shall we!
In one corner, Pharrell shows us all that he does, indeed, have many hats. Of the same variety, mind. But still. Many hats. There’s four in this clip for “Marilyn Monroe” including one THAT HAS A HOLE IN IT. Get it? Like it’s been shot! Like in the Westerns back in the day! Oh, that crazy kid.
The song, largely about how Pharrell simply can’t make his mind up when it comes to the smorgasbord of potential suitors available to him (and please, Willy, let us know if there’s anything we can do to help you through that difficult time); a problem that appears to be, at least in part, solved via an appearance by Kelly Osbourne. Because fuck it, why not?
Hat count: 4. Swag count: Off the charts.

Meanwhile in England, Lily Allen‘s dropped the pastel, neo-street styled clip for “Sheezus,” and if you think that motherhood would’ve soften her famously caustic barbs, boy are you ever wrong.

No less than Katy Perry, Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Rihanna, and Lorde name-checked individually through the course of the song, in which Lily declares her intent to re-capture her crown – whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Although secretly I do like to think that the pop world is ruled by a clandestine underground professional fighting ring, where the top sellers are determined by gloriously hyperbolic prizefights; a world where the ring canvas is built on the unsold records of failed contenders, fighters float into the arenas on hype, and nothing is quite what it seems…
