OK Go and Saatchi & Saatchi Give Emerging Filmmakers The Chance To Direct New Clip

OK Go are never going to remembered for the music. It’s not like their inoffensive yet ultimately forgettable pop-rock is bad, it’s just that their high-concept video clips are so good. From choreographed treadmill dance routines, to life size Rube Goldberg machines, OK Go have attracted over 120 million YouTube views across their various clips. Basically,  OK Go = YouTube pimps.

Instant worldwide exposure beckons for one aspiring filmmaker with the band getting down with Saatchi & Saatchi and BUG, world-renowned music video curators, to challenge new directors to create a video for their new single
‘I’m Not Through’. Good ideas (and a great deal of patience) have always trumped big budgets so the competition is an open call to anyone with a clever idea, exercise equipment themed or otherwise.

Apart from having to deal with the fact that you’ll be considered an abject failure, should your clip fail to crack the 2 million views mark, the winner will score a trip Cannes Lions in June 2013, where their film will be screened as part of the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase. The Internet loves OK Go. The Internet also loves cats. You get my drift? You’re welcome.
