Onetime one-man party starter Jona Bechtolt (now joined by girlfriend Claire Evans) sticks it to crazy religious types in YACHT’s new video for “Psychic City (Voodoo City)”.
The duo preface the clip with the ass-covering disclaimer: “Due to our strong personal convictions, we wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult.” Which is another way of saying the religious iconography be overflowin’ and boy how it overflows! Pious Jona battles dark lord Claire for the majority of the clip before reconciling French style at the end (Satan is that you?). The lo-fi slow jam should sound completely incongruous next to the good-and-evil tonsil hockey but Jona and Claire are so damn adorable it somehow feels right.
