Produced in association with our gr8 m8s at Nando’s.

We absolutely love you guys for being loyal and visiting us here at PEDESTRIAN.TV on the reg, so we’re letting you in on a little secret. We’ve got the inside track for a series of ‘secret’ parties at which the dudes of Miami Horror will be laying down the musical law. With a strict capacity of 200 (THAT IS NOT THAT MUCH YOU GUYS) that means we’ve got 100 door spots (each +1 for yr bestie, of course) to give away,

To put yourself in the running head down below and pop your vital details in BEFORE July 26. That’s it. No tricks. No ruses. No flim flams or bamboozles. You’re in with a shot at scoring an all inclusive party night featuring drinks and some cheeky Nando’s catering.

The three parties are going down in Perth on the 6th of August, Brisbane on the 16th, and Melbourne on the 18thAnd just to show you how JAZZED AS FECK we are on the whole concept, we traversed space and time to sit down with our pal Ben from Miami Horror to talk about all things party:

Describe the best party you’ve ever been to?

We’ve seen a lot of crazy parties over the years on tour, in LA etc, but I think for me my favourite ‘party’ was Golden Plains in Melbourne this year. It’s the one time I can party unadulterated with my best friends and a whole bunch of people I rarely otherwise see and meet a whole bunch of new people. A good party has to be both somewhat wholesome and something that doesn’t happen every week.
If you could invite five people to a party, (dead or alive) who would they be?
Haha, I guess I’d go for some interesting characters such as Prince, Rick James, David Bowie, my friend Vinnie and my new partner in crime Sarah Pauley.
If you were playing an end of the world party, what song would you have to play?
I imagine if it was the last party you’re going to probably want it to be on a beach in Acapulco during sunset so I’d play Todd Terje – “Eurodans”, or FCL – “It’s You (San Soda’s Panorama Bar Vers)” in which its line “I feel the heat” would be appropriate, HOWEVER its probably the one last time you could actually get away with playing Daft Punk – “One More Time” and have everyone enjoy it.
What are three essential ingredients for a great party?
Besides the obvious, I think its important to have:
  1. Interesting mix of people you’ve never met.
  2. Location needs to be very interesting and different, even slightly surreal with a bunch of hiding spots.
  3. It has to make you feel like you are secure and free enough to enjoy yourself uninhibited.

Can you give us a sneaky idea of what you’ve got planned for your Secret Party sets?

Since it will be an intimate party I think we’ll probably go for a mostly disco & house orientated set, maybe throw in a few less club tracks if the atmosphere permits.
What are you guys up to for the rest of the year?
Working on new music. While working on our new album we made a point of separating the dance-ier (club) stuff from the band orientated music and consequently have a bunch of more electronic stuff that we’ll hopefully be releasing as MHDJs later in the year with a bunch of great colabs. We also have a few remixes coming out next month and most of the year booked up with tours.
