Madonna Denies GaGa Beef On New Leaked Track

Poor Madonna is not having a good month. Her upcoming album, Rebel Heart, was subject to multiple leaks in December, forcing her to rush the record towards completion as she tried to stem the tide of unmastered songs from emerging online.

Many of these songs were allegedly still demos, and yesterday things got worse when one of those, rumoured to be a Lady GaGa diss track, surfaced as well.
‘Two Steps Behind Me’, the track in question, is apparently part of Madge folklore for its scathing take on GaGa, who in turn has been copping Madonna comparisons for most of her career. This isn’t helped by the lyrics, which read: “Where is my royalty? / You’re a pretty girl, I’ll give you that / stealing my recipe.”
Madonna’s manager, Guy O’Seary, has denied that this song is about anyone in particular, which is kind of his job. And he could be right; there are plenty of other stars who owe Mrs Ciccone more than lip service both aesthetically and musically. Fans on both sides have flocked to Instagram, where it appears the two pop queens are having a bit of a coded war, if you’re into that sort of thing. For her part, Madge has lashed out at people implying that there’s not enough room for two successful women in what is now one of her typical elongated captions. GaGa, ever the cryptic one, opted to put it more succinctly.

Careful witch, I’ll put a spell on you. Or maybe I already did.
