LOL: Kanye’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ Had 500K+ Illegal Downloads In 24 Hrs

According to TorrentFreak‘s estimates, the new Kanye West album ‘The Life of Pablo’ had over 500,000 torrented downloads in the first 24 hours of it being ‘released’. Which is enough to certify it as gold, had those downloads been legal.

Now, this is probably no surprise to anyone, especially people who follow Kanye on Twitter. The responses to his tweets begging followers and fans to sign up to streaming service Tidal (the only place you can currently listen to the album) have not been suuuuuuuper pleasant.

Kanye also tweeted yesterday that he would never be releasing the album for sale. Like, ever. Not even on iTunes. And the responses to that tweet were a shitstorm and a half, to put it lightly. Savage AF:

Regardless, shoutout to this super polite Ye fan:

So that explains Torrent Freak numbers. Every second tweet to Kanye right now is a screenshot of someone torrenting TLOP

It’s understandable in this situation though: Ye‘s thought process just doesn’t make sense. You’re allegedly $53 million in debt, and millions of fans are literally trying to give you their cash. Yet… refusing to sell copies of your album somehow makes sense to you? Bizarre.
But, Yeezy will do whatever Yeezy wants to do. It’s his world, we just live in it.
