It’s a real special week, mates. Not only did we get the surprise Childish Gambino entry into the Like A Version library on Tuesday afternoon, but we’ve also got our regularly scheduled Friday morning edition as well. This one comes via British rapper Little Simz, and it’s a wee belter let me tell you what.
In the country for Splendour in the Grass and a handful of associated sideshows, Little Simz and her backing group found the time to stop by Triple J to belt through a fairly faithful rendition of the Gorillaz stone cold classic Feel Good Inc.
It’s a pretty true-to-the-original cover, but given Simz manages to not only smash the vocals out of the park, but keep the unmistakable bass line solid as well, it’s worthy of significant praise.
Give it a bloody burl. Level your Friday morning up.
