Lily Allen Dedicated Her Sydney Performance Of ‘Fuck You’ To Liam Neeson

Smashing out two sold-out shows at Sydney‘s Enmore Theatre this week, Lily Allen made sure she directed her last song of the two-night party to someone very special – Liam Neeson.

At the tail end of her encore, Lily Allen introduced the last song of her set as one that she “used to dedicate to Donald,” but after yesterday’s flooring news that Liam Neeson once sought out race-based violence after a friend of his was raped by a person of colour, Lily saw it fitting that she dedicate ‘Fuck You‘ to the Northern Irish actor, labelling him a “middle-aged racist bastard.

Standing on the side of the crowd, I can tell you first-hand that everyone lost their minds over this, and I’ve never seen so many middle fingers thrown into the air to the sugary melody of ‘Fuck You‘.

Nor has the lyric “You’re just some racist who can’t tie my laces, your point of view is medieval” been more applicable to someone like Neeson.

Allen tore through her back-catalogue, despite noticeably leaving off any songs from her third album, 2014’s Sheezus. She also made a point of recognising that February 5th was the 10-year anniversary of one of her most outstanding LPs, It’s Not Me, It’s You, before launching into ‘The Fear‘.

Lily Allen hits Melbourne‘s Forum Theatre tonight (Feb 6), before ducking up to The Tivoli in Brisbane on Feb 8, then down to Party In The Paddock in Launceston on Feb 9another Forum show on Feb 10, and winding things up in Perth on Feb 12. You can grab tickets to her remaining shows over HERE.
