Turns Out Liam Neeson’s Wild New Flick Is Pretty Much ‘Mr Plow: The Movie’

Liam Neeson has settled into a strange but wonderful late-career surge where he plays the one character, repeatedly transplanted into increasingly insane scenarios, and it kicks ass every time. Case in point: The upcoming flick Cold Pursuit, which dropped its debut trailer earlier today.

The crux of Cold Pursuit reads thusly: Liam Neeson plays a seemingly serene father whose child falls afoul of criminals, leading to a violent reckoning as he single-handedly wreaks havoc on a complex network of organised gang members who have made the unwitting mistake of picking the wrong family to fuck with.

Only this time, Neeson drives a snowplow.

Check out the trailer immediately. It absolutely slaps.

Probably the best usage of Don’t Fear The Reaper in a film trailer, that. Outstanding stuff.

One curious thing worth mentioning, however, is that folks on the ole’ internet have quickly picked up that the storyline bares remarkable resemblance to a classic episode of The Simpsons.

US journo Dave Itzkoff pointed out just how similar shots in the Cold Pursuit trailer are to the iconic Mr Plow ep.

And it’s not just fleeting similarities either. It’s all over the place.

But there’s more.

And more.

Not that we’re complaining, mind you. The world’s been begging for a badass action movie adaptation of the greatest snowplow-based saga to befall Springfield for years.

I mean, seriously. Liam Neeson. Driving a snowplow. Wrecking fools.

It’s the movie you’ve been waiting for you entire life but didn’t realise it until just now.

Cold Pursuit is scheduled to hit cinemas next February.
