Kings of Leon And Fred Armisen Announced As Next American Express Unstaged Pairing

Love world colliding? American Express, in collaboration with their mates at VEVO and Youtube, have announced this morning that Southern rock royalty Kings Of Leon and former SNL player and the hilarious co-creator of IFC’s Portlandia, Fred Armisen, will unite as the latest creative coupling its fantastic live streaming music series American Express Unstaged.

The exclusive performance will be streamed live from Shepherd’s Bush in London, England at 6am Australian eastern standard time this Saturday August 10th, and will be directed by Armisen and streamed exclusively on www.amexunstaged.com, YouTube’s iOS and Android apps, the Youtube mobile website and on VEVO’s free apps for iPhone and iPad.

Both parties performed a verbal circle jerk expressed their delight at having been given the chance to work with each other in the same capacity which has seen creative hookups between The Killers and Werner Herzog and Jack White and Gary Oldman.

“I was really impressed with the creative opportunities that a program like American Express Unstaged offered”, said Armisen, who has been featured previously in the series when he made a cameo appearance during the American Express Unstaged performance that sent Vampire Weekend on a blind date with Steve Buscemi earlier this year. “I am excited to work with Kings Of Leon to put together a really incredible show for fans worldwide.”
