UPDATE:
According to a live VMA 09′ blog at prefixmag.com, Kanye West took the microphone right from under Taylor Swift’s mouth as she was accepting her award for ‘Best Female Video’ and said that Beyonce should have won instead.
West apparently appeared from no where, jumped up on stage interrupting young Swift’s acceptance speech and stated ‘Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”
As quickly as he had appeared on stage, MTV cut away to show a horrified Beyonce, however the damage had been done and Swift was left mortified and unable to finish her speech.
Taylor Swift and Kanye West fans alike are going berserk on Twitter, with numerous people going as far as suggesting MTV remove West from the award ceremony.
Even Australia’s own MTV VJ (and everybody’s favourite lipstick lesbian) Ruby Rose, who is over in New York filming a MTV special “Ruby Rocks New York” had some stern words for Mr West;

This isn’t the first time West has thrown a tantrum at an awards ceremony either.
In 2004 he walked out of the American Music Awards claiming he was “robbed” in the ‘Best New Artist’ category.
Then the following year he was quoted in saying “If I don’t win album of the year I’m going to have a problem” in regards to his Grammy nomination for his album, Late Registration and just in case we didn’t think he thought highly enough of himself, in 2006 West stormed off stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards after loosing the award for ‘Video of the Year’.
Finally, there was the “That’s two years in a row!” tirade backstage at at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.

After being kicked out of the awards show shortly after his outburst onstage, Kanye West updated his blog with the following:
