Justin Bieber Apologises For The Years 2011–2016 In Soul-Searching Insta Post

Justin Bieber has essentially apologised for his grot behaviour in the years spanning 2011 to 2016, using an Instagram post to say the use of “pretty heavy drugs” and the unimaginable strain of life as a child megastar contributed to his actions.

In a big ol’ slab of text, Bieber admitted what many critics have said for years: that he dude acted like a spoiled kid with little regard for those around him.

But the singer said his public bullshittery was spurred by a general dissatisfaction with life, which still creeps up if you’re a platinum-selling pop star.

“It’s hard to get out of the bed in the morning with the right attitude when you are overwhelmed with your life, your past, responsibilities, emotions, your family, finances, your relationships,” he said.

“When it feels like there’s trouble after trouble after trouble. You start seeing the world through a lens of “dread” and anticipate another bad day.”

While that kind of existential malaise is hardly uncommon in folks his age – millennial / Gen Z culture is essentially defined by a pervading sense that everything sucks – Bieber said “it can get to the point where you don’t even want to live any more.”

He dove into a brief but genuine piece of self-reflection, referencing his meteoric rise and how that level of success can warp young stars.

“I never even learned the fundamentals of responsibility,” he admitted.

“So by this point I was 18 with no real skills in the real world, with millions of dollars and access to whatever I wanted,” he added, implying that skewed experience contributed to his drug use and all-around skeeviness.

The post ends on a lighter note. The bloke references his marriage to Hailey Baldwin and his faith as positive influences; while that’s cold consolation for the godless masses, we’re happy for him, we guess.
