Jay-Z Discusses Music Festivals To Promote Beer

Music festivals and beer go hand in hand, at least according to Jay-Z, the man whose own Made In America festival boasts headlining acts including Pearl Jam, Skillrex, Miike Snow, Odd Future, Passion Pit, Santigold and the Dirty Projectors, under the watch of official thirst quencher/intensifier, Budweiser.

In an effort to spruik both festival and beverage, Jay-Z narrates a short one minute spot discussing the unifying capabilities of music festivals. As one astute commenter points out, Jay does his best Christopher Walken while sprouting platitudes like: “The world aligns and things that are put in place to divide us, all like minded people gather together. We’re more curious than ever, we create music to express ourselves and when the world relates, you know, that’s a beautiful thing.

The best line, however, in what is essentially an ad for several different commodities (the festival, the beer, the man himself) would have to be that this whole exercise “is just being honest. That’s it, that’s what it’s all about. We are finally living out our creed.” Because advertising is all about the honesty, right Jay?

And that’s a beautiful thing indeed.

And this is probably the best thing to ever come from The Wedge:
