Jack White & The Saboteurs Are Playing Their First-Ever Aus Headline Shows In April

Jack White Raconteurs Tour

In news that just made THIS Jack White fan hyperventilate at her desk (don’t believe me? Just ask my colleagues!), it’s been announced that Jack White and his side project The Raconteurs (known in Australia as The Saboteurs) are playing their first headline shows in eight years, and those first shows are happening right here in bloody Australia.

The band — featuring Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler — has never played in Australia, and haven’t played anywhere at all since 2011. But obviously for these momentous first shows, they’ve chosen Down Under because we deserve it.

Also, Jack White last toured Australia solo in 2012, so it’s been a really long time since we’ve seen him in general. The band has released two albums so far – 2006’s Broken Boy Soldiers and Consolers of the Lonely in 2008. Recently they’ve brought out some new music, the tracks “Sunday Driver” and “Now That You’re Gone”, which both appeared on a special edition reissue of Consolers of the Lonely.

The guys will be closing Bluesfest in Byron Bay in April but before that, they’re playing two headline shows in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) and one in NZ. Shows are as follows:

Tuesday 16 April
Powerstation, Auckland NZ (18+)

Thursday 18 April
Regent Theatre, Melbourne VIC (18+)

Saturday 20 April
Big Top Luna Park, Sydney NSW (18+)
