It May be Time to Pick Sides in Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Breakup

For the most part, we’ve been pretty happy to ignore the persistent internet talk about about Jay-Z and Beyoncé‘s looming breakup, because that sort of thing almost always follows celebrity couples around, and the two of them seem rather sweet together. If two deeply narcissistic millionaires can find love and embark on a fabulously opulent concert tour celebrating their bond, then maybe there’s hope for the rest of us, too.
Take this however you want to, but it seems that as of this weekend, the promoters of Jay and Bey’s dual On The Run Tour are sufficiently worried about the state of the pair’s relationship that they’ve called crisis talks to deal with it. The New York Post report that promoter Live Nation held a meeting with the couple, four of their closest lawyers, and a representative from HBO to discuss the future of the tour, which still has several dates left.

HBO are fretting because they have a major documentary about the tour planned for September, and sorta kinda need it to go ahead in order for that to happen. Meanwhile, Live Nation would probably not be thrilled if they had to cancel Bey and Jay’s remaining dates in San Francisco and Paris, in spite of mysterious inside source  – definitely not Solange – who spoke to the Post and gloatingly insisted that they will likely not make it that far.

The pair are reportedly sleeping in separate hotels throughout the final stages of their tour, and late last week, the Post also reported that Beyoncé has been shopping around for post break-up real estate in Chelsea. We’re not saying this split is happening, but if it does, it will be the most important and relevant breakup of all time. Your last breakup will seem sad and trivial by comparison, and you’ll spend whole afternoons wallowing around watching The Notebook and wishing it could have been as glamorous as theirs.
The Obamas are probably going to side with Beyoncé on this one. The Kardashian-Wests could go either way. Who will YOU pick?
