HEALTH are committed to their fans and/or have excess time and energy. Not only are the LA four piece prepared to write claustrophobic songs about “nice girls” then play those songs for people half way around the world, they’re willing to promote said tour with schlocky self-produced videos whose primary function isn’t even promotion. It’s mind-fuckery or mass confusion and they’ve done it before. To celebrate their debut tour of Australia last February, the band produced a homespun promo video featuring didgeridoos, samurai swords and the destruction of inanimate objects, the disclaimer “Health is not afraid of you” proved fitting.
This time round “Health is still not afraid” and still willing to spruik tours of Australia with bat shit crazy videos that only make sense if you don’t think about it too much. Watch below as HEALTH channel the Beastie Boys circa “Sabotage” and replicate the questionable production values, spontaneous make outs and dubious facial hair of a Californian porno. I bet they don’t do this for every country they visit. Above and beyond HEATH, above and beyond.
