Guy Sebastian Doesn’t Rate His Chances Of Winning Eurovision That Highly

The many-headed, sparkling beast that is the Eurovision final almost upon us, and Guy Sebastian has been hard at work charming the international media, running through dress rehearsals, and giving very odd interviews to his wife Jules.
As to his chances of actually taking home the victory, though, the Aussie interloper is taking a pretty realistic attitude, telling an interviewer that his favourite to take out the whole thing is Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw.
“It depends on the vibe people go for,” he said, when rating the finalists and their prospects. “For me, I thought Sweden was outstanding. [Polina Gagarina] from Russia, what a great song. There’s just so many.”
He’s also putting money on Serbian contender Bojana Stamenov.
“When she performed I was in the room and the whole place just went crazy,” he said. “That’s what it’s about, right? It’s about creating a vibe and she did that.”
As for his own prospects, Our Guy’s a little more reticent. “It always changes,” he said of the highly political, cross-country voting. “We’re a guest. And we’re just blown away by the reception, not just from the hosting country, but from all the countries.”
Amidst it all, Guy is pinning his hopes on not coming last. “It wouldn’t be nice doing interviews with Australia in the morning and them going, so, you embarrassed us, don’t come back,” he said.
Here he is smashing his final dress rehearsal of ‘Tonight Again’:
Eurovision airs at 5am this Sunday May 24 on SBS.
