Gotye To Make SNL Debut

After making his live US television debut on Jimmy Kimmel just over a month ago, the folks at NBC have announced today that Gotye will make his presence felt on the hallowed stages of Saturday Night Live with a debut performance set for April 14th, alongside Academy Award nominee and No-Country-For-Old-Man-In-Black, Josh Brolin.

Wally – I think it’s safe to say we can just call him Wally – will perform songs from his platinum-selling, record-breaking, it’s-just-freaking-everywhere album “Making Mirrors,” which is currently charting in at number 16 on the American Billboard 200, with that song you used to know clocking in almost 120 million views on YouTube and sitting at a comfortable #1 in the UK charts for the fourth consecutive week.

SNL is a proven – well, proving ground, for artists both upcoming and established. If the Mayans were actually onto something and Wally does a Del Ray, he’ll always have the Sesame Street crowd to fall back on. Plus I can see Andy Samberg doing a great Gotye on Weekend Update now.

Hey, if you can make it there…
