Gotye Teases New Album, Making Mirrors

Gotye has unveiled the album art (painted by his Father in the mid-80s), release date (August 19) and tracklisting for album number three, Making Mirrors. Other album notables include guest vocals from Melbourne diva Kimbra (‘Somebody That I Used to Know’), a closing track dedicated to either Bronte the suburb or the literary sisters (we hope it’s the latter) and esoteric reference points such as “obscure outback sound installations…the Orchestral Symphonizer of the Lowrey Cotillion electronic organ, or an 18th century pump harmonium set up in the large barn where he recorded much of the new record”. How many obscure outback sound installations and 18th century pump harmoniums have you drawn influence from? Wait, don’t answer. Below, an inspired album preview featuring a frantic drum take, a keyboard setting called genie bass and Wally’s lust worthy vinyl collection.
