Gomez singer/guitarist Ben Ottewell has revealed to FasterLouder that the much loved English indie rock band will be playing Splendour In The Grass.
Ottewell, who is in Australia for a solo tour, said: “we are going to be in the UK in June and then July in the States and then over here in July going into August and then back in the States in September. We are going to be at Splendour.”
Gomez join The Kills, Friendly Fires and The Vaccines as confirmed acts for the 2011 Splendour bill, all of whom have inadvertently announced their place on the lineup with loose-lipped interview gaffes. As-yet-unfounded claims and rumours have also tipped Coldplay, Pulp, Elbow, Kanye West and James Blake for the 2011 lineup which, if true, ought to be enough to have people offering vital organs in exchange for tickets. Most people have two good kidneys.
As is tradition Triple J will announce the lineup on air next Wednesday at 9am.
